Eos Positioning Systems confirms NRECA Associate Gold Membership

Eos provides cross-platform compatible GPS/GNSS receivers for rural electric cooperatives who wish to acquire higher accuracy in existing field workflows

MONTREAL, Canada, May 14Eos Positioning Systems, Inc.® (Eos), the pioneering provider of submeter Bluetooth® GPS and GNSS solutions for any device or app, today announced its associate membership within the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). Eos has joined the organization with an NRECA Associate Membership at the Gold Level.

“We are grateful for this recognition from the NRECA for the work we have been doing with U.S. electric cooperatives,” Eos CTO Jean-Yves Lauture said. “And we are especially thankful to all of the co-ops who have selected our Arrow GNSS receivers already.”

Eos Arrow Series® GNSS receivers are completely device agnostic, meaning they work out of the box with any commercially available mobile device, including iOS®, Android and Windows.

Eos also partners with a variety of NRECA associate members to ensure compatibility with mobile apps such as FieldPro from NRECA Platinum Associate Member Futura Systems.

“FieldPro Stake on iPad® provides designer engineers with the tools they need to draw up a job in the field,” Futura CIO Doug Malinowski said. “And when combined with Arrow receivers, field crews can easily do it with high spatial accuracy.”

Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) in Texas has been using a mix of Arrow Gold and Arrow 200 receivers with FieldPro to perform centimeter-level staking for new constructions.

“The Eos Arrow GNSS receivers, with Futura’s FieldPro mobile app, created an ease of use and accuracy that was a huge success for us,” TCEC CTO Nichole Eshbaugh said. Everyone loves it. We would never turn back.”

In Arizona, Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) has been using the Arrow Gold GNSS receiver to map substations with centimeter accuracy. They use the receiver on iPads with Esri ArcGIS Collector® and a free Arizona RTK subscription to achieve centimeter locations.

“We can send high-accuracy positions and inventory data from Collector directly to the cloud geodatabase,” SSVEC GIS Supervisor Kurt Towler said. “That means the line workers can now do their jobs without software or hardware getting in the way.”

In addition to prioritizing technical superiority, Eos is dedicated to responsive customer service. Eos technical support staff is known for providing timely and personalized responses to customers of all sizes and in three languages (English, French, and Spanish). Eos Technical Support Manager Alvaro Paez also addresses the month’s most popular technical question in the Eos newsletter in a monthly feature called “Al’s Corner.”

“Eos was founded on the belief that we can meet customer needs in a way not previously seen on the market,” Lauture said. “We look forward to learning more from our NRECA customers through meaningful and responsive communication.”
