Visit Eos Positioning Systems® (Eos) with Esri at the 2025 Colorado Rural Water Conference. This year’s event will be held at the Embassy Suites Loveland Hotel & Conference Center in Loveland. An Eos representative will be giving a presentation to train rural water utilities professionals involved in field work and GIS mapping how to get much higher, precise location accuracy during their field work. We will have a second presentation with Esri pertaining to modern mapping practices for rural water utilities. See the presentation details below, and check back the week before the event, as these dates and times might change.

Session 1: Modern GIS Practices for Water Utilities
Mar 18, 2025 / 10:10 am - 11:30 am |
Track: Collection Track
Maps have always been essential to understanding and improving the delivery of safe, clean drinking water and reliable sewer and stormwater services. Today, with modern advances in technology, such as improved internet connectivity and more powerful mobile devices, digital mapping can be readily deployed at a utility and improve the efficiency of workflows across an organization. In this workshop you will learn how modern GIS technology supports water utility workflows with solutions that can help your utility resolve common business challenges. The presentation and demonstrations will focus on: • Modern network management practices • How web maps and applications coordinate operations across the utility • Learn how to map facilities and vertical assets • Improve decision-making and support through intuitive analytics • Achieved with Easily deployable out-of-the-box solutions By the end of this course, attendees will understand modern network management practices, operational workflows, how to start mapping facilities and vertical assets, and how data and analytics can be used for data-driven decision making, and how to find and deploy Esri solutions.

Session 2: Achieving Centimeter Location Accuracy in Colorado
Mar 19, 2025 / 4:10 pm - 5:00 pm |
Track: Collection Track
In all rural water systems, having accurate, digital maps is becoming expected by employees, regulators, and customers. But how do you get accurate maps? Where do you begin? Usually operators start with paper and CAD maps and wonder if they must transer these to digital GIS or remap their entire system. In this presentation, veteran mapping expert and former consultant Mike George will break down both the benefits of having accurate maps as well as best practices for getting started. Moreover, Mike will provide specific action-items for rural water utilities in Colorado to get the most out of their GPS hardware and mapping software at the best price available, including free RTK resources. Attendees will learn what to look for in GPS hardware, how to get started with mapping software, and tips and tricks to get their digital maps off the ground easily and affordably — the right way, the first time. Those who are already on their mapping journey will also gain best practices into refining their field workflows. Mike will be available for Q&A after the presentation and in the expo area in the Eos/Esri booth.
