Instead of going with the traditional way of updating the assets, we are using high accuracy GPS that is paired with ArcGIS fields Map to collect the assets as they are being installed. The workflow has passed the testing stage, we are anticipating putting it to work in our upcoming small water mains replacement contract starting March 2022. The limitation of this workflow is majorly due to the weather environment. in the hot season, the used tablets that is used in the field used to overheat, there were unexpected benefits that we learn about them after discussing the workflow with our contractors that they can cut off the cost of hiring designers/drafter if the adopted the electronic submission. for this workflow, it is significant to consider the workflow from the bottom (data schema) to the top ( user-friendly data collection format). https://www.esri.com/en-us/lg/industry/water/stories/city-of-wilmington-department-of-public-works-case-study
