4 Free GPS Training Workshops: Start-to-Finish Training

Eos Positioning Systems is pleased to offer free live training workshops for GNSS data collection. The following live GPS training workshops were recorded in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. 4 Live GPS Training Workshops in 2021

1. Eos Arrow GNSS with Esri ArcGIS Field Maps (February 2021 Workshop with Esri)

Join Eos Positioning Systems with special guests from Esri and Colliers Engineering & Design (formerly Maser Consulting) and hundreds of attendees for a high-accuracy mobile data collection workshop. In this educational virtual training event, you will:

1. Learn about the new Esri ArcGIS Field Maps app from an Esri Product Lead
2. Receive hands-on web map configuration training from a mobile GIS expert
3. Be trained in an overview of GPS/GNSS for Esri GIS users
4. Participate in a live outdoor data-collection demonstration (i.e., Arrow Gold GNSS, RTK, Field Maps, iPad)
5. Hear a real-world user’s experience of Arrow GNSS and Field Maps

This workshop will cover the following hardware and software technologies:
– Eos Arrow Gold RTK GNSS Receiver
– Esri ArcGIS Field Maps
– Esri ArcGIS Online

In part one of the workshop, you will explore Esri’s new ArcGIS Field Maps app, receive a GPS/GNSS overview, and be trained on web map configuration for high-accuracy mobile work. In part two, you will watch a live outdoor demonstration of mobile data collection. This series of exercises is designed to instill a foundational understanding of high-accuracy data collection. A panel of experts is available at the end to take all questions.

2. Eos Laser Mapping for ArcGIS Field Maps (March 2021 Workshop with Esri and LTI)

Join Eos Positioning Systems with special guests from Esri and Laser Tech (LTI), as well as hundreds of attendees, for a virtual workshop on Eos Laser Mapping™ for ArcGIS Field Maps. Eos Laser Mapping™ is the process of mapping an asset without having to physically occupy its location, using GNSS and handheld laser rangefinders.

In this free educational training event, you will:

1. Learn about mapping in Field Maps using high-accuracy GNSS and handheld laser rangefinders
2. Go over the various laser-mapping workflows/methods available with Eos Laser Mapping™ for ArcGIS, including pros, cons, and technology requirements of each
3. Receive training on how to configure your Esri web maps for laser mapping
4. View a live outdoor demonstration of laser mapping with Field Maps

This workshop will cover the following hardware and software technologies required for Eos Laser Mapping for ArcGIS:
– Eos Arrow GNSS Receivers
– LaserTech handheld laser rangefinders, including new support for legacy TruPulse 200L/200 and 360/360B/360R lasers
– Esri ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Collector
– Esri ArcGIS Online

In this multi-part workshop, you will learn the value of laser mapping in Field Maps and get an overview of the various methods available for your workflows. You will then view a live web-map configuration, followed by a live outdoor data-collection demonstration. This series of exercises is designed to provide a foundational understanding of laser GIS. A panel of experts from Eos, Esri and LaserTech is available at the end to answer all questions.

3. Underground Utility Mapping with Eos Locate for ArcGIS (April 2021 Workshop with Esri)

Join Eos Positioning Systems, Esri, and hundreds of attendees for a high-accuracy underground utility mapping workshop on April 29. In this free, exclusive training workshop you’ll have the opportunity to:

1. Learn about the new free, high-accuracy underground-mapping solution from partners Eos and Esri: Eos Locate™ for ArcGIS apps
2. Explore how to improve the spatial accuracy of your entire network — by ensuring that the location data for existing buried infrastructure is (finally) just as good as that of newly installed assets
3. Receive hands-on training in the software and hardware components required to map underground utilities directly into your Esri GIS
4. Participate in a live outdoor data-collection demonstration during which we map an underground utility in real time

This workshop will cover the following hardware and software technologies:

4. High-Accuracy Data Collection with Arrow GNSS and ArcGIS Survey123 (May 2021 Workshop with Esri)

Are you ready for survey-grade form-based data collection?

Join Eos Positioning Systems, Esri’s ArcGIS Survey123 experts, and hundreds of attendees for a free, one-time, virtual training workshop. In this live educational event, you’ll learn how to use Eos Arrow GNSS receivers with Esri’s form-based data-collection app: Survey123.

Held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, this half-day workshop provides the following foundational trainings:
– Introduction to important GNSS concepts
– Overview of real use cases of Arrow GNSS with ArcGIS Survey123
– Indoor demonstration: Configuring ArcGIS Survey123
– Outdoor demonstration: Collecting survey-grade data with Arrow Gold GNSS and Survey123
– Extended Q&A with expert panelists from Eos and Esri

This workshop will cover the following hardware and software:
– Arrow Gold GNSS receiver and Eos Tools Pro
– ArcGIS Survey123 and ArcGIS Pro

Agenda summary (subject to change):
This multi-part workshop will be divided into indoor and outdoor training opportunities. After initial instructions on important mobile mapping and GNSS concepts, you will attend a live configuration of a Survey123 form from Esri expert Ismael Chivite. After a short break, we will then demonstrate outdoor data-collection with the form we just created. These demonstrations will include best practices for setting up your data-collection forms and for mobile mapping with your high-accuracy Arrow GNSS receiver. At the end of the workshop, our expert panelists will be available to answer your questions.
