Skadi Gold Shines In Austria
A field study led by Prof. Dr. Kornél Czimber (University of Sopron) tested the Skadi Gold™ GNSS receiver with Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) under dense forest canopy conditions in Austria.
The Results:
Despite limited connectivity and challenging environments, the solution consistently delivered sub‑50‑cm accuracy — and in some cases reached 25 cm — without relying on RTK or cellular corrections.
The Takeaway:
The study shows Skadi Gold with Galileo HAS can reliably support core forestry tasks (e.g., tree inventories, boundary validation, precision mapping) even under heavy canopy. As GalHAS moves toward full service, this approach could become increasingly practical for foresters across Europe.
Eos Tools Pro Updates Coming Soon:
A major ETP update already in beta is rolling out next month to all users. The release introduces over‑the‑air firmware updates for Arrow Series receivers, expanded mobile device management (MDM) support across Android and iOS, and a more intuitive way to activate Skadi Tilt Compensation™ directly in the app. Together with new exception‑handling controls and general UI/UX improvements, this update helps teams standardize deployments, prevent bad data collection, and manage GNSS hardware more efficiently in the field.
