Pairing your Skadi Series™ GNSS receiver to an Android™ smartphone or tablet is a simple process. This includes enabling mock location to ensure your third-party mobile app reads the location from your mobile device. Follow these steps below to establish a successful connection:
Step 1: Power On the Skadi GNSS Receiver
Ensure your Skadi GNSS receiver is turned on and that its Bluetooth® LED is blinking. You must also install Eos Tools Pro before proceeding.
Step 2: Open Bluetooth Settings on Your Android Device
On your Android phone or tablet, go to Settings and select Connections.
Tap Bluetooth and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
Step 3: Select Your Skadi GNSS Receiver
Under Available devices, locate your Skadi GNSS receiver in the list. You will see this as the Skadi model name and an eight-digit serial number, such as Skadi Gold GNSS 22205085.
Tap on the device name and select Pair in the Bluetooth pairing request pop-up to begin pairing.
The Bluetooth LED on the Skadi will continue blinking blue until the remaining steps are completed.
Your Skadi receiver is now Bluetooth paired to your Android device. The next step is to enable mock location on your Android device for third-party apps.
Step 4: Enable Mock Location
For the Skadi GNSS receiver to provide accurate locations to your third-party mobile app, you need to enable mock location on your Android device. Follow these steps:
Go to Settings > About phone > Software information.
Tap Build number multiple times until Developer mode is enabled.
Go back to Settings and select Developer options. In the Location section of Developer options, tap Select mock location app. Select Eos Tools Pro as your mock location app.
Step 5: Choose Your Receiver in Eos Tools Pro
Launch Eos Tools Pro. Eos Tools Pro will show you a list of available Eos GNSS receivers from which you may choose to connect. Select the desired Skadi GNSS receiver.
Step 6: Configure Your Settings in Eos Tools Pro
Open the Eos Tools Pro Settings page by tapping the gear icons in the app’s top right corner. Scroll to the Replace Device Location switch. Toggle this on. You are now replacing the mobile Android device location with the Skadi receiver’s high-accuracy location.
Step 6: Verify Connection
If you want to make sure Eos Tools Pro is overriding your device location, launch Eos Tools Pro. Select the Status page of the bottom navigation menu. You will now see Map View in the top navigation menu. The Device location coordinates should match the Eos Receiver coordinates.
Next time you launch Eos Tools Pro with any Eos GNSS receiver paired, you will see a notification at the top of the screen indicating that Mock location is on.
Step 8: Set Third-Party App Settings
If you are using a third-party app, such as for data collection, launch that app’s settings. Navigate to its location provider or receiver settings. Your task is to tell your app to read the device location. This might be labeled “device location,” “integrated receiver” or something similar. If you’re not sure, contact our technical support team and we can walk you through.

- Check in Eos Tools Pro Settings that the Replace Device Location switch is on.
- Verify in the Eos Tools Pro Map View menu that your Device location and Eos Receiver coordinates are identical.

Following these steps, you can easily connect your Skadi GNSS receiver to an Android device and begin using it outdoors for high-accuracy positioning.
