How Waller County Built a Trustworthy Road GIS During Rapid Growth
As one of the fastest-growing counties in the U.S., Waller County, Texas, needed a smarter way to manage roads, especially as dozens more are added annually. With submeter GNSS accuracy and a streamlined ArcGIS workflow, a three-person team transformed hand-drawn data into a field-verified GIS. Using Eos GNSS receivers including the Arrow 100+ with ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS QuickCapture, they mapped hundreds of miles of roads, thousands of signs, and critical culverts. The results: Faster 9-1-1 routing, visually data-driven maintenance, and a clear way to show residents how their infrastructure is improving in real time.
Eos Tools Pro Updates Released Last Week:
A major ETP update was released publicly last week. The release introduces over‑the‑air firmware updates for Arrow Series® receivers, expanded mobile device management (MDM) support across Android™ and iOS®, and a more intuitive way to activate Skadi Tilt Compensation™ directly in the app. Read the May 22 release notes.

Current GNSS Satellite Status for May 25, 2026
Since last month: Total global operational orbital (usable) GNSS satellites increased by 1. Here’s why:
GPS’s total operational orbiting satellites decreased by 1 (32 went to 31).
Galileo’s total operational orbiting satellites increased by 1 (26 went to 27).
BeiDou’s total operational orbiting satellites increased by 1 (27 went to 28).
BIG NEWS! The BeiDou website, which our team had not been able to access since June 2024, has finally granted us access. Importantly, in the past two years there has been no significant effective change to total operational orbiting satellites (increasing by 1 as mentioned above). However, BeiDou’s geostationary satellites have reduced to 9 from 28. The latter affects users in China.
QZSS operational geostationary satellites stayed the same.
IRNSS operational geostationary satellites stayed the same.
