Great Smoky Mountains National Park is renowned for its natural beauty, but the dense canopy that covers the park poses significant challenges for field data collection. Learn how a group of forward-thinking Americorps volunteers used the Eos Arrow Gold+ GNSS receiver, GalHAS GNSS corrections, and laser rangefinders to overcome the challenges of mapping in dense canopy. Their work supports efforts to sustain rare, ecologically important features known as Appalachian Grassy Balds.
